Registrar - Wilson County Emergency Department (Nights)

This Registrar position is within the Admitting Job Summary, focusing on admitting all patients in a timely manner. The role involves ensuring all current information is documented, signatures received, insurance verified, authorizations obtained, and deductibles or co-pays requested. Additionally, the Registrar is responsible for ensuring wrist bands are properly applied, advance directives are given to each patient, and patient questions or concerns are addressed. POSITION HOURS for this role include two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts. It is a night shift position, covering 6:45 p.m. - 7:15 a.m., with rotations based on unit need. Specific workdays or days off cannot be guaranteed.
Requirements
- Relevant Work Experience Experience Level: Less than 1 year
- High School Diploma or GED
Responsibilities
- Admit all patients in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure all current information has been documented, signatures received, insurance has been verified, authorizations received and the deductibles or co-pays have been requested in a compliant manner
- Ensure the wrist bands are put on the proper patients, advance directives given to each patient and patients receive the answer to any questions or concerns they may have
- Serve as back up for the phone operator as needed
- Assist with in-patient patient admissions, including OB, as needed
