About The Position

The Patient Access Registration Representative is primarily responsible for providing a comprehensive, proactive, and “Patients First” experience to all patients and visitors at Inspira Health. Demonstrates outstanding customer service skills to investigate, triage and resolve patient issues, ensuring patient’s visit is an outstanding experience. Additionally, the Patient Access Registration Representative completes the registration of all patients, ensuring that all points of registration (Emergency Room, Outpatient, SDS and Admitting) are obtaining accurate patient information and that patients are made aware of hospital policies and procedures. Receives and records accurate demographic, financial and insurance information for all patients registered. Verifies all insurances in HDX system and determines the patient’s financial responsibility amount via Recondo, the hospital insurance estimation tool. Requests and collects the patient responsibility amount at time of service, if applicable through our PatientCo application. Reviews and explains hospital consent form and all required registration documents to patients, according to department scripting, in addition to securing patient signatures on forms.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional customer service and conflict resolution.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Typing skills of 30-40 WPM required
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse population while maintaining a professional attitude and providing great customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college and/or CHAA certified preferred.
  • Hospital and Insurance registration experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential in order to successfully communicate with a diverse patient population and workforce.
  • Interest in learning new technology and troubleshooting to resolve minor technical issues.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus.
  • Base knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred.
  • Ability to travel among hospital sites preferred.
