About The Position
The Department of Patient Access at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Registrar / TH Staff Assistant 2. The successful candidate will be responsible for interviewing and verifying demographic, biographic, and financial information with patients and/or family members to complete registrations using the Eagle Database System. This role includes placing wristbands on patients, verifying insurance eligibility, distributing information regarding patients' rights and HIPAA privacy law, obtaining necessary signatures, reconciling patient charts, and assisting patients or family members with inquiries. Additionally, the candidate will admit patients using the Orchestrate System, convert outpatient registrations to inpatient, assign beds to admitted patients, perform bed transfers in Eagle, adhere to regulatory standards, attend registration meetings, complete training, order laboratory tests using the Cerner database, and perform other related duties as required.
