Engineering a world of possibilities Registrar Advisor The Opportunity The Office of the Registrar welcomes applications for the Registrar Advisor at Colorado School of Mines. Reporting to the Associate Registrar for Advising & Operations, the Registrar Advisor provides student services advising and support to prospective and current students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The office consists of three functional areas: Records & Registration, Systems, and Transfer & Compliance. This position works independently to research, plan, coordinate, implement, manage, and communicate all central registrar functions, including student records, registration, and degree processing. Leveraging broad knowledge of degree requirements, registration policies and procedures, and strong collaborative relationships with advisors, administrators, and faculty, the Registrar Advisor serves as a front‑line resource for students navigating their academic programs and for faculty implementing innovative curricula and courses. The Registrar Advisor works closely with Senior Registrars and fellow Advisors to analyze, develop, and improve procedures that support transparent, effective management of office operations and delivery of high‑quality, direct customer service. The position has broad authority to make procedural decisions regarding applicant verification and may recommend or implement related system or technology changes. The role independently responds to external agencies, determines when students should be directed back to their academic departments for guidance, and communicates policy‑related hardships to campus partners. Regular communication, training, and advising of Registrar staff, prospective students, current students, faculty, and administrators is expected. The Registrar Advisor also represents the unit externally as needed. Accurate, timely, diplomatic, and consistent communication with all stakeholders is essential. The position handles confidential and sensitive information with discretion in accordance with state and federal laws. Additional responsibilities include independently training faculty and staff on Registrar processes and policies, communicating with students and alumni, collaborating with vendors and peer institutions, and creating and maintaining materials and web content that support the Registrar Advisor role.
