Responsibilities
- Professional client communication and education
- Obtaining medical histories and symptoms
- Performing laboratory procedures including hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals
- Conducting diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols for fellow staff members
- Nursing skills including restraining patients, administering medications, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, and anaesthesia monitoring
- Proficient in dental prophylaxis
Requirements
- Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state
- Associates degree in Veterinary Technology
