Requirements

Responsibilities
- Follow treatment plans prescribed by the veterinarian
- Safe and effective patient handling and restraint
- Knowledge of preventative care and vaccines
- Competency in emergency and surgical care - including IV catheter placement
- Professional, compassionate communication with clients and staff.
- Obtain quality lab samples via venipuncture, cystocentesis, fecal collection, etc.
- Perform in-hospital laboratory diagnostics, including urinalysis, cytologies, etc.
- Process lab samples utilizing in-hospital laboratory equipment
- Use low-stress patient handling techniques
- Perform diagnostic radiographs
- Administer injections, medications, and nursing care as directed by a veterinarian
- Administer sedation for minor procedures
- Administer and monitor general anesthesia, if required
- Maintain accurate, complete digital medical records
- Maintain a clean work environment
