About The Position
Destination Pet is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for Purple Paws Pet Clinic in Coronado, CA. This role is for a community-minded small animal practice that believes credentialed technicians are the clinical drivers of patient care. The clinic is a well-established, full-service general practice hospital with a legacy of excellence and loyal clientele, featuring three dedicated DVMs and an experienced support team. The clinic is committed to staying current with the latest advancements in diagnostics, medical treatments, surgical procedures, and preventative wellness, utilizing state-of-the-art medical, surgical, and dental equipment, as well as an in-house laboratory and ultrasonography. As an RVT, you will be encouraged to work to the top of your license and serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset, consistently following AAHA utilization guidance.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid California RVT state license.
Responsibilities
- Perform full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery related to Anesthesia & Analgesia.
- Conduct full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
- Execute high-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection for Diagnostics.
- Manage critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and care for catheters/feeding tubes in Nursing & Triage.
- Lead tech appointments, team huddles, and mentor assistants/externs as part of Workflow Leadership.
- Guide career interests through paid precepting, skill checkoffs tied to ladder milestones, and leadership training.
