About The Position

Cary Veterinary Hospital, a small animal general practice in Cary, NC, is seeking an experienced or new graduate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, or CVT) to join our close-knit, collaborative medical team. Requirements

  • Certification as a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred; new graduates with passion and drive are welcome to apply!
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle and restrain animals safely, including aggressive animals.
  • Professional, compassionate, and adaptable.
  • Comfortable with the emotional and physical demands of a veterinary clinic, including euthanasia.
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional growth.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Avimark is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during exams, providing safe and effective restraint.
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
  • Perform routine dental cleanings and administer anesthesia under veterinarian supervision.
  • Monitor anesthesia and provide post-operative care.
  • Obtain diagnostic radiographs with proper positioning and technique.
  • Perform lab tests (blood, urine, feces) to support diagnosis and treatment.
  • Perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, and administer injections (IV, IM, SQ).
  • Assist with surgery preparation, including shaving surgical sites and placing IV catheters.
  • Maintain clean exam and treatment areas.
  • Support client education and proper medical record keeping.
