This is a full-time position (35-40 hours per week). We're open Monday through Friday and every other Saturday. Responsibilities
- Assisting veterinarians during exams and procedures, ensuring safe and effective animal restraint
- Performing pre-physical tasks (weights, temperatures, histories, reason for visit)
- Administering prescribed medications, vaccines, treatments, and assisting with dental cleanings
- Monitoring anesthesia and patient vitals following established safety protocols
- Obtaining and positioning radiographs
- Monitoring surgical patients during recovery
- Running in-house lab tests (bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal analysis)
- Providing emergency first aid and life-saving support when needed
- Preparing and labeling samples for laboratory testing
- Maintaining and sterilizing equipment and instruments
- Preparing patients for surgery, including IV catheter placement and clipping
- Filling prescriptions and accurately labeling medications
- Keeping exam rooms and treatment areas clean and organized
- Collaborating with veterinarians and support staff to ensure excellent patient care and client communication
