We are looking for a team-oriented veterinary technician to join our team! This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with different species. Our clinical team includes one clinical coordinator, one veterinary assistant, two board certified Zoological veterinarians (faculty), one resident, and one intern specializing in ZCA medicine. Experience with nontraditional species is a plus, but we're equally excited to train someone who brings curiosity, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for zoological companion animal medicine. As a valued member of our team, this position provides paraprofessional support to the AEZ service by performing diagnostic procedures, anesthesia, and therapeutic treatments, while delivering high-quality patient care. The technician also plays an active role in teaching and mentoring veterinary students, interns, and residents, and contributing to both patient outcomes and the educational mission of the service. This position entails lead worker responsibilities and it's a great opportunity for someone who is looking to begin their leadership journey with mentorship and guidance. This position has an Essential Services designation, meaning this position is required to report without delay or interruption to provide essential or emergency services to ensure health, safety, and welfare. The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the date of hire; the department will not be offering visa sponsorship. A signing bonus may be negotiated for the successful hire.
