About The Position

Join us as a Registered Vascular Technologist at the East Orange, NJ VA Campus, part of the VA New Jersey Healthcare System. This is a full-time contract position. W-2 or 1099 employment options available. Duties include: Routine and specialized vascular ultrasound tests. Capture and document images and findings. Document preliminary reports in electronic patient records. Communicate findings to providers. Maintain supplies and perform equipment care and troubleshooting. Serve as liaison between the vascular lab and internal/external customers. Review consults and schedule appropriately. Ensure patient safety and infection control compliance. Respond to patient and provider inquiries. Perform emergency response and basic patient care as needed. Schedule: Full-time, 8A-4:30P Mon-Fri. 24/7 coverage is required, rotating shifts outside of normal business hours. Includes evenings, weekends, and federal holidays. Period of Performance: 5 years (12-month base period w/ 4 renewal options) 5/1/2026-4/30/2031. What we do: Monterey teams with general practice, specialists, and allied health practitioners nationwide to provide local coverage for examinees. We deliver a wide range of medical examination-only services to public sectors and the individuals they serve. Our clients include the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), the Department of Labor, the Department of Defense, and more. Our provider network consists of over 700 providers in various medical specialties and degree types. They conduct diagnostic-only examination services on an as-needed basis. These services may take place in their private office, established clinics located across the country, or during travel opportunities for group screening events. Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current, full, and unrestricted licensed to practice Vascular Ultrasound Technology in any state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia
  • Must be registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and certified in general vascular technology by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • BLS or ACLS required
  • In-depth knowledge of vascular anatomy and disease
  • Ability to perform and interpret a wide range of vascular studies
  • Proficiency in Doppler imaging, waveform analysis, and intracranial exams
  • Skilled in operating ultrasound equipment
  • In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English
  • Subject to background/security investigation
  • Must pass TB test
  • Complete an online onboarding process
  • Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
