About The Position

The Cardiovascular Sonographer is responsible for performing Vascular diagnostic testing as per Accreditation Guidelines. This role involves reporting preliminary findings for physician interpretation and functioning within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the organization.

Requirements

• High School Education Required; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
• Registered as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible.
• Registered by the ARDMS as a RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) OR Registered by CCI as RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) OR ARDMS or CCI Board-eligible AND achieve certification within 12-months of hire.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in cardiovascular imaging preferred.
• Effective Communication Skills.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician orders to ensure correct procedure and correctly identifies patients.
• Performs all studies according to policy and procedures and standards established by Accreditation body.
• Reports abnormal pathology appropriately.
• Explains procedures to patients and answers their questions.
• Ensures comfort of patients and assists with patient transport as needed.
• Obtains pertinent health history.
• Enters accurate and complete data in diagnostic testing equipment and documentation system.
• Ensures accuracy of reports prior to dispatch.
