About The Position

Performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing diagnostic ultrasound equipment.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Technical Ultrasound Program.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or Radiology Technology (S) (ARRT) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
• Ability to perform basic ultrasound echo and/or peripheral vascular studies.
• Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
• Available for emergency call back.

Nice To Haves

• 6 months related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs a variety of technical procedures efficiently utilizing ultrasonic machinery for the diagnosis of disease.
• Positions, transfers and immobilizes patients, as necessary to perform diagnostic procedures.
• Adjusts machinery and ancillary equipment parameters in accordance with prescribed procedures to obtain diagnostic medical/legal ultrasound images.
• Assists in equipment calibration to maintain department standards.
• Understands and performs high level probe disinfection.
• Schedules exams and maintains department records.
• Assists in quality control programs for the maintenance of prescribed standards.
• Assists in quality control programs for the maintenance of prescribed standards.
