About The Position

Demonstrate proficiency with skills and knowledge to perform noninvasive vascular ultrasound examinations, assess technical data and provide preliminary results, and assist in the interpretation of exams. Exam types include the following: Visceral arterial Cerebrovascular Peripheral venous Peripheral arterial Enters exam data into systems, ensures completeness of exam and prepares exam for interpretation. Adheres to departmental procedures and protocols. Regularly attends departmental meetings, in-services and actively participates in continuing education. Assesses patients for procedures ordered prior to, during, and after treatment according to Imaging Services/Departmental Guidelines. Operates highly specialized equipment, including radiographic, CR (Computed Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System). Trains students and staff as assigned. Creates a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families. Assesses data reflective of the patient status. Interprets information needed to identify each patients requirement and/or specific needs, and provides care per applicable policy and procedures. Interacts with patients, families, visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate of approved School of Ultrasound or equivalent training.
  • ARRT registry/ARDMS in one of the following areas: OB/Gyn, Abd or Neurosonography.
  • RVT (ARDMS) or RVS (CCI) in Vascular Sonography required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Interpersonal, technical skills and flexibility in assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in vascular sonography preferred.
