Essential Job functions: Testing Preparation Procedures Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments if necessary Apply electrodes and sensors Perform positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting Gather and Analyze Patient Information Perform diagnostic test to determine origin of sleep related disorder(s) Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet patient needs Administers Polysomnographic Study (Diagnostic and Titration), MSLT and MWT Follow procedural protocols to ensure collection of appropriate data Establish and document baseline values Perform polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free and make adjustments, if necessary Explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to the patient; including instructions on home sleep tests Documents test results, routine observations, including sleep states and clinical events, changes in procedure, and significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results Oversee and perform difficult and unusual procedures and therapeutic interventions Sterilizes and disinfect equipment after each use Polysomnographic Record Scoring Scoring sleep/wake stages by apply professionally accepted guidelines Scoring clinical events (such as respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousals) Generate accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data Cleans, downloads and programs home sleep tests devices Provide supervision of a Polysomnographic Trainee and/or Polysomnographic Technician / Sleep Technologists / RPSGT General Job functions: Complies with all accreditation standards to include Inter-Scorer Reliability Testing Complete and verify documentation Ensures test results are promptly reported to the physician and medical records department Ensures all tests are completed in a timely and accurate manner Notifies referring physician of preliminary and final test results Act as a liaison for referring physicians Ensures that the proper documentation and charging is done for each procedure performed Answers department telephone by routing callers to appropriate individual, takes messages, and scheduling appointments Cleans and stocks examine rooms Orders supplies when necessary Follows the clinics exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
