Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) provide evidence-based clinical care to some of the most critically ill patients in the United States. Caring for adult, pediatric and/or neonatal patient populations, Registered Respiratory Therapists evaluate, treat and care for patients with a wide range of lung diseases and respiratory disorders, such as asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, COPD and lung cancer. By joining our team as an RRT, you will enjoy day-to-day interactions with patients, allowing you to advance your skills, hands-on, and potentially move into leadership roles down the line. A caregiver in this position works evenings from 3:00PM – 11:30PM.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Heart Association (AHA) and/or Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) Certification when appropriate for site

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Critical Care and/or performing invasive procedures
  • Neonatal/pediatric experience when appropriate for site
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
  • Direct respiratory caregivers for delivery of care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications and treatments and perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
  • Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.
