Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED plus two (2) years of direct respiratory care experience or Associate's degree in respiratory care required.
  • Applicant must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Applicant must hold a current Arkansas Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP).
  • Knowledge of Respiratory care procedures and treatments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Applicable medical equipment and supplies, medical terminology, and treatments.
  • Organization and time management.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in respiratory care.
  • ACCS, NPS, ACLS.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine respiratory care procedures, including updrafts, metered dose inhalers (MDI), chest physiotherapy (CPT), arterial blood gases (ABG), incentive spirometry, and intrapulmonary percussive ventilation (IPV).
  • Assists with bedside bronchoscopies, tracheotomies, and trach management, including emergency and rapid responses.
  • Educates patients regarding use, care, and cleaning of personal respiratory devices.
  • Moves equipment and medical supplies into assigned work areas and transports diagnostic equipment as needed.
  • Provides mechanical ventilator setup and management.
  • Enters patient treatment notes in the e-chart system and documents patient charts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
