The role you'll contribute: Responsible for performing routine respiratory care procedures for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients per hospital needs. This position initiates and maintains appropriate therapy, including life support techniques and equipment. This role provides preventive, supportive, and corrective interventions related to the cardiopulmonary system in assigned patient care areas. In addition, this position applies knowledge and skills necessary for appropriate interactions with staff, patients, and families. Additionally, this role demonstrates and maintains minimum competency in all applicable clinical skills.
Requirements
- Associate in [Required]
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) State of Kentucky [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
Responsibilities
- Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely.
- Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow.
- Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies. Interprets evaluations and test results to determine appropriate treatment plans in consultation with interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Responds to all Code Blue emergencies immediately providing CPR according to the American Heart Association and performs other duties as directed.
- Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and makes recommendations to the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
