About The Position

A full-service acute care hospital in the Fort Pierce region is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join its respiratory care team. This role supports adult and pediatric patients across high-acuity environments, including emergency care, critical care, surgical services, cardiology, and general inpatient units. Therapists in this setting play a key role in airway management, ventilation support, and diagnostic respiratory procedures.

Requirements

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/RCP) credential and state licensure.
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Care or related field.
  • BLS certification (within 30 days of hire).
  • ACLS certification (within 30 days of hire).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an acute-care respiratory department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and ventilation parameters.
  • Conduct diagnostic respiratory tests and evaluate patient responses to therapy.
  • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, and other respiratory treatments.
  • Assist with artificial airway placement and provide ongoing airway management support.
  • Initiate, monitor, and adjust invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.
  • Document all treatments, assessments, and clinical changes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Respond to emergency situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
  • Safely transport ventilator-dependent patients within the hospital.
