About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking to add a Registered Respiratory Therapist to our Bonneval location in Jacksonville, FL. This is a PRN, day shift opportunity. At Baptist Health, a Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with respiratory or breathing disorders. This role involves administering respiratory therapy treatments, performing diagnostic pulmonary function tests, managing and monitoring mechanical ventilators, and providing patient education and respiratory care support. The Respiratory Therapist collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality patient care. Requirements

  • 3-5 Years Respiratory Therapy Experience
  • Experience in Neonatal
  • Experience in Pediatrics
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required Or
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required Or
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required Or
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification Required Or
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Required

Nice To Haves

  • Registered National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) Preferred
  • Associate's Degree

Responsibilities

  • CPAP/BiPAP Setup and Maintenance: Set up and calibrate CPAP and BiPAP machines, ensuring they function properly. Provide ongoing troubleshooting and maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Provide Follow-Up Care: Monitor patients' progress with CPAP/BiPAP therapy, including follow-up calls and office visits to address issues with compliance or machine performance.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients about sleep disorders, their symptoms, and treatment options, including Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy, BiPAP, and other ventilation support methods.
