Organization: Staffing Collaborative Job Summary: VUMC TempForce has opportunities for Registered Respiratory Therapists. This is a 13-week assignment renewable for 1 year with premium pay at $60 per hour. This role performs routine and advanced respiratory care procedures in the acute care, critical care, and outpatient environment independently; practices evidence-based medicine through respiratory care protocols. Applies the Respiratory Care process to plan and manage the care of complex patients in a comprehensive manner. Consistently ensures a comprehensive continuum of care plan in collaboration with the health care team. Demonstrates and role models effective communication and conflict resolution skills. Ensures evidence-based care and continuously monitors patient outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to Board of Respiratory Care standards. Floats across entities to fulfill requirements of the role.Requirements: Credentialed through NBRC with TN licensure Shift: 6:45 pm - 7:15 am 3/12 hour shifts with rotating weekends .

  • Relevant Work Experience Experience Level: 2 years
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Responsibilities

  • Maintains direct involvement with patients participating in research projects or quality improvement projects.
  • Performs Respiratory Care by following written guidelines.
  • Provides education and Family Focused patient care.
  • (VUH) Member of the Critical Care Respiratory Care team, a critical care unit, or the Emergency Department Regularly, and assigned to a Critical Care Unit or Emergency Department >50 % of the worked schedule.
  • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements respiratory care delivery while anticipating patient care needs.
  • Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine respiratory care diagnosis.
  • Continually utilizes the respiratory care guidelines and protocols to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
