About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist - Seasonal PRN at Medical City Weatherford is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care. This role involves performing diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, monitoring patients receiving mechanical ventilation, and ensuring airway integrity during resuscitation. The position is seasonal, running from September 21, 2025, to April 4, 2026, with specific requirements for hours and shifts.

Requirements

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Certificate in a relevant field.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
• Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
• Assist with placement of artificial airways.
• Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider as appropriate.
• Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
• Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity during resuscitation.
