About The Position

The position is for a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Advocate Health, specifically within the Carolinas Rehabilitation department in Charlotte. This full-time role involves working night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with rotating weekends. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus. The therapist will demonstrate knowledge in various modes and methods of oxygen delivery, administer therapeutic procedures, and monitor mechanical and non-invasive ventilators. Responsibilities also include evaluating therapies, documenting results, and conducting respiratory care techniques in emergency settings. The role requires independent work in patient care areas and proficiency in electronic medical records.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
  • Associate's RRT or RRT Equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the applicable state.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines.
  • Advanced certifications per facility policy/standards.
  • 2 years critical care experience required for free-standing Emergency Department and Virtual Critical Care.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge in various modes and methods of oxygen delivery and the equipment needed for each.
  • Administers therapeutic procedures and performs diagnostic procedures as outlined in policy.
  • Initiates, monitors, and maintains mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilators.
  • Independently evaluates current therapies and makes recommendations concerning plans of care.
  • Documents therapy and results as required by hospital, department, and regulatory agencies.
  • Initiates, conducts, and modifies respiratory care techniques in an emergency setting.
  • Performs and evaluates blood sampling analysis.
  • Works independently in all patient care areas and assists co-workers with patient care.
  • Follows departmental safety guidelines and completes all regulatory requirements.
