About The Position

Night shift position working 1900-0730. Will work every Friday and Saturday and 3 Holidays per year on a rotational basis. Can take 6 shifts off per contract year. Will be oriented to work in all areas of the hospital, including but not limited to adult and pediatric critical care areas and adult and pediatric ED. Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Indiana Respiratory Care Committee obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Fast Paced Trauma 1 and Burn Center.
  • Two to three years of experience preferred.
  • RRT Indiana licensure.
  • Must work well as a team.
  • Adult staff train at Peyton Manning for the winter months.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
  • Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
  • Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.
