About The Position
Position: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Neuro/Diagnostics Location City: Newark, NY (ZIP: 14513) Travel Requirement: Personal car required (rideshare services unreliable in rural areas) Scheduling Details Shift Hours / Contract Length: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM, 8 weeks Orientation: 16 hours (non‑billable) Block Scheduling: Not available Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (6 weekend shifts per 13‑week equivalent contract) Float Requirement: Yes – from long‑term care to acute care as needed Patient Diagnoses CHF, COPD, Pneumonia Respiratory Failure Respiratory Infections Unit Details & Procedures Special Procedures: ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment, medication administration, pulmonary hygiene Special Equipment: Hamilton Vent, Servo‑U, NKV330, V60
Requirements
- Active RRT license (must be in hand)
- BLS certification
- Adult critical care
- Emergency department experience
- Minimum 1 year experience
- Personal car required (rideshare services unreliable in rural areas)

- Airway management: nasal/oral airway placement & suctioning, tracheostomy care/management
- Sputum specimen collection
- Suctioning (ETT, NT)
- Ventilation support: hand‑held, T‑piece, trach collar, bag & mask, ET tube, HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP
- Troubleshooting high‑pressure alarms
- Weaning from mechanical ventilation
