The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) performs all aspects of respiratory care for patients across the lifespan, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and emergency services. The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, detail-oriented, and dedicated to delivering safe, evidence-based care in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.

Requirements

  • Completion of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Care program (Associate Degree required)
  • Active Florida RRT license (must be in hand prior to start)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an RRT in an acute care or hospital setting

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with adult and pediatric ventilator management.
  • Proficiency in arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation.
  • Strong communication and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and monitor all routine and advanced respiratory therapy procedures for patients of all ages.
  • Set up and manage acute care ventilators for short- and long-term mechanical ventilation.
  • Evaluate and adjust therapy based on patient response and physician direction.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all treatments, procedures, and patient assessments.
  • Demonstrate strong clinical judgment in emergency situations and work independently when necessary.
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned, calibrated, and maintained according to hospital and department standards.
