About The Position

An acute care hospital in Oviedo, Florida is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to deliver high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care across inpatient and critical care settings. This role is ideal for respiratory therapists with strong clinical judgment and experience supporting ventilated patients, emergent situations, and multidisciplinary care teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of RRT experience
  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (CRT does not qualify)
  • Active Florida Respiratory Therapist (RCP) license
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Care
  • BLS certification (required within 30 days of hire)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Required Within 6 Months of Hire
  • ACLS Required Within 6 Months of Hire
  • PALS Required Within 6 Months of Hire

Nice To Haves

  • L&D or critical care experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document comprehensive respiratory assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressures
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy
  • Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen delivery, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy
  • Assist with placement and management of artificial airways
  • Initiate, monitor, and manage invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation
  • Monitor patient response to therapy and intervene appropriately for adverse or unintended outcomes
  • Assist with transport of ventilator-dependent patients
  • Respond to emergency situations, including codes and rapid responses, ensuring airway integrity and effective ventilation
