About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide high-quality respiratory care in a fast-paced, acute care environment. The therapist will work primarily with adult and geriatric patients, delivering critical respiratory interventions and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in South Carolina (required at submission)
Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
Trauma Level 1 experience required
Minimum 1 year of Epic charting experience
Certifications Required: BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Clinical Skills Required
Adult critical care experience
Airway management (nasal/oral airway placement, suctioning)
Tracheostomy care and pulmonary hygiene
Medication administration including bronchodilators, steroids, and specialty respiratory drugs
Experience with aerosol delivery systems and nebulizers
Ventilator management and oxygen therapy systems
Proficiency with high-flow oxygen systems, CPAP, and BiPAP

Responsibilities

Provide respiratory care in adult critical care settings
Perform procedures including extubation, airway management, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
Administer respiratory medications via various delivery systems (MDI, nebulizers, aerosol setups, trach collars, etc.)
Manage oxygen therapy including high-flow nasal cannula and trach collar systems
Operate and monitor ventilators, including BiPAP and CPAP
Troubleshoot ventilator alarms and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation
Conduct pulmonary hygiene and collect sputum specimens
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams for patient care planning
Float to other units or campuses as needed based on competency
