About The Position

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT - PRN to join their team. This role involves coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with departmental requirements and standards of practice. The Respiratory Therapist will perform diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, monitor patients receiving mechanical ventilation, and ensure positive patient interactions.

Requirements

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist is required.
  • Associate Degree or Vocational School Graduate is required.
  • One year or more RRT experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
  • Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
