Requirements

  • Possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to provide respiratory care to the age of the patients served.
  • Good clinical judgment and problem solving abilities.
  • Possesses communication skills - both verbal and written in English.
  • Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS Provider minimum requirement.
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with pulmonary disorders under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Care.
  • Collect and analyze sputum, blood and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases.
  • Measure the lung capacity of patients to determine if there is impaired function.
  • Perform a variety of tasks related to respiratory care.
  • Demonstrate creativity and latitude in performing duties.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
