About The Position

Medical City Denton is seeking a Seasonal Registered Respiratory Therapist PRN to join our team. This role is part of HCA Healthcare, the nation's leading provider of healthcare services. The Respiratory Therapist will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with departmental requirements and standards of practice. The position involves performing diagnostic tests, therapeutic procedures, and monitoring patients receiving mechanical ventilation.

Requirements

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Neonate Resuscitation certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) certification.
• State Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner certification (RRT/RCP).
• Vocational School Graduate.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
• Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
• Assist with placement of artificial airways.
• Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider as appropriate.
• Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
• Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
