Registered Respiratory Therapist - Pediatrics

About the position

The position is within the Respiratory Care Pediatrics department at Studer Family Children's Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart, located in Pensacola, Florida. This is a full-time role with a night shift schedule from 7pm to 7am. The role involves providing evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, developing care plans, and monitoring patient conditions. Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
• Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
• Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
• Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
• Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
• Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice-to-haves
