About The Position

Join our Level III NICU team and care for our tiniest patients! Perform critical respiratory therapies, support high-risk deliveries, and collaborate with providers and nurses to ensure the best outcomes. NICU Respiratory Therapists are also trained for neonatal transport, delivering specialized care when it matters most.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American HeartAssociation or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred 2-3 years of prior direct NICU care experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
• Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
• Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
• Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
• Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
• Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.
