About The Position

Under the direction of a qualified physician, performs diagnostic cardiopulmonary evaluation and respiratory therapy treatments to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. Initiates, conducts, and modifies prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures such as : administering medical gases, humidification and aerosols, aerosolized medications, postural drainage, bronchopulmonary hygiene, cardiopulmonary resuscitation; providing support services to mechanically ventilated patients; maintaining artificial and natural airways; performing pulmonary function testing, hemodynamic monitoring and other physiologic monitoring; collecting specimens of blood and other materials. Documents necessary information in the patient’s medical record and on other forms, and communicates that information to members of the health care team. Educates the patient, family and public in deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system Assembles, calibrates, disinfects and troubleshoots respiratory equipment. Completes all competency requirements. Adheres to the organization’s mission and vision as emphasized via RMC Standards of Behavior. Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal skills to work productively with patients, families, staff, and co-workers. Directs the work of staff in the absence of the supervisor, if qualified. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • 5 years for support or 0-2 years for professional
