Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital is the largest children's hospital between Atlanta and Washington, D.C., providing specialized care for critically ill children. Levine Children's Hospital provides top-tier critical care for neonates, infants, and children with complex medical needs. It features a 24-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), a 20-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), an 85-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation floor. The hospital offers advanced care capabilities, including respiratory therapy protocols, mechanical and non-invasive ventilation, nitric oxide and heliox therapy, and ECMO management. Respiratory therapists benefit from continuous learning about conditions like ARDS, RSV, acute respiratory failure, seizures, sepsis, and trauma. Performs all aspects of direct respiratory care according to physician's orders and/or approved protocols. Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy and makes appropriate recommendations. Provides appropriate ventilator support and maintains and monitors other cardiopulmonary life support equipment. Maintains and properly utilizes respiratory care equipment.
