About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides essential respiratory therapy services under general supervision, contributing to patient care across various settings. This role involves performing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures for patients with cardiopulmonary issues, collaborating with healthcare professionals to create effective care plans, and instructing others in respiratory care practices.

Requirements

• Graduation from an AMA/CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Registration (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• BCLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services throughout the continuum of care.
• Perform therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures and diagnostic tests for patients with cardiopulmonary abnormalities.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to develop optimal care plans.
• Conduct patient assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy.
• Determine which respiratory care activities can be delegated to other team members.
• Instruct employees and students in respiratory care procedures and evaluate their competence.
• Function as an in-charge therapist and preceptor as requested.
