About The Position

Baptist Health is currently hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist for our Critical Care Transport team at Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time opportunity. This respiratory therapist will be responsible for caring for our critical care patients who may need transportation to or from Wolfson Childrens Hospital. We are looking for candidates that are comfortable working in high-stress and fast-paced environments. When not transporting, you will be providing support to the hospital's critical care units. The ideal candidate will have critical care experience, transportation experience, and experience working in both the PICU and NICU. We are also looking for a candidate possessing strong communication and interpersonal skills while working in confined spaces, such as an ambulance. Requirements

  • 3-5 Years Critical Care Experience
  • 3-5 Years Medical Experience
  • PICU Experience
  • NICU Experience
  • Experience with the care of surgical patients
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required Or
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required Or
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification Required Or
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Required
  • Associate's Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree

Responsibilities

  • Performing basic life support, advanced life support, and critical care support.
  • Understanding orders of the physician or Medical Director and
  • Performing assessments, providing treatment, and monitoring patients during inter-facility transports.
  • Relaying information to the M.D. and other medical professionals.
  • Effectively assessing patients and providing appropriate treatment.
  • The care of the patient, including any emergency procedures the patient may require while under their care (CPR, endotracheal intubation, needle aspiration of the chest, and umbilical assessment during emergency medication delivery).
