Requirements

Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) in the state of practice
Certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Proven experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, equipment, and protocols
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a rotating night shift schedule
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

Assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders
Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and mechanical ventilation
Conduct diagnostic tests such as blood gas analysis and pulmonary function testing
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and treatment outcomes
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding respiratory health and treatments
