Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) in the state of practice
  • Certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Proven experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, equipment, and protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a rotating night shift schedule
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

  • Assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders
  • Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and mechanical ventilation
  • Conduct diagnostic tests such as blood gas analysis and pulmonary function testing
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and treatment outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding respiratory health and treatments
