About The Position

University Hospitals is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a PRN (as-needed) position within the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab team at the Minoff Health Center at Chagrin Highlands and other outpatient rehab locations. This role offers an opportunity to join a dynamic, collaborative interdisciplinary team, contributing significantly to patient care in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. The therapist is expected to learn and incorporate the hospital's mission and standards, perform basic competencies during orientation, and provide satisfactory respiratory therapy with minimum supervision.

Requirements

Associate's Degree in Respiratory or Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Current RCP Ohio License granted by the Ohio Medical Board
Basic Life Support (BLS)
NRP Certification (Neonatal facilities) (Required within 6 Months)

Nice To Haves

1+ years Respiratory Therapy
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Membership in the AARC
At least one year of recent Cardiac and/or Pulmonary Rehab experience

Responsibilities

Mechanical ventilation
Medicated aerosol delivery
Airway clearance therapy
Patient monitoring
Oxygen and humidity therapy
Special procedures (CPR, specialty gases, bronchoscopy, transport, etc.)
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all policies and standards
Abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients
Designing programs that help patients manage chronic lung diseases by improving exercise capability, reducing breathlessness, and teaching them how to manage their symptoms to reduce hospital admissions and improve quality of life
