About The Position

Responsible for the operation of radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic radiographic exams. The position requires competence in scheduling exams in the CR unit, as well as the use of PACS and Web PACS. The individual must demonstrate competency in patient care according to the age of the patient and population served, including neonate, infant, toddler, preschool, school age, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Knowledge of growth and development is essential, along with familiarity with hospital policies and procedures, safety protocols, and disaster preparedness. The role involves performing radiographic exams under the supervision of a registered technologist and assisting in the orientation of new employees. The individual must also monitor patient safety and perform quality exams to meet standards set by the radiologist.

Requirements

  • Technical or Vocational school plus up to 2 years of specialty training
  • Prefer ARRT registry, will accept registry eligible graduates
  • Must obtain CPR certification within 30 days from hire

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiographic exams as assigned under the supervision of a registered technologist
  • Completes and assists in all orientation of new employees
  • Demonstrates knowledge of pain management and responds appropriately
  • Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient's needs
  • Monitors and assures patient safety
  • Performs quality exams consistently to meet standards set by the radiologist
  • Responsible for assisting and keeping radiology equipment and accessories in satisfactory operating condition
  • Responsible for assisting during fluoroscopic procedures and other special type procedures
  • Responsible for CQI related duties and QA/QC duties as assigned
  • Responsible for individual continuing education
