About The Position

The Registered Radiologist Assistant (RA) will support radiologists at Texas Radiology Associates by performing various procedures, including diagnostic fluoroscopy, joint injections, and non-vascular interventional radiology. The role involves dictating initial radiographic observations and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient care and safety.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other medical staff, peers, and subordinates.
  • Proficient with EMR systems.
  • Technologist experience working in an Interventional Radiology department is strongly preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologist Assistant Program is required.
  • ARRT certification as a Registered Radiologist Assistant.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensing with the State of Texas as a Radiologist Assistant.
  • BLS/ACLS Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a multimodality environment supporting Interventional Radiologists providing patient care in a collaborative effort.
  • Perform and assist on a variety of vascular and minimally invasive interventional radiology procedures.
  • Communicate initial observations for the radiologist(s) on a variety of outpatient radiographs.
  • Perform GI and GU fluoroscopy procedures.
  • Conduct fluoroscopic and/or ultrasound-guided diagnostic and therapeutic musculoskeletal injections/aspirations.
  • Perform a variety of fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided interventional radiology procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, and PICC placement.
  • Evaluate image quality, make initial image observations, and communicate these observations to the supervising radiologists.
  • Help obtain informed consent by explaining the procedure to the patient or healthcare proxy, including risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up.
  • Review the patient's medical record to verify the appropriateness of a specific exam or procedure.
  • Review outpatient procedure referrals for appropriateness and approval under the supervision of a Radiologist.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to address patient needs and requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
