About The Position

The Registered Radiologist Assistant (RRA) is responsible for evaluating appropriateness of patient imaging examination including protocoling, indications and contraindications, lab data, explaining risks and benefits of procedures and obtaining informed consent, working with referring physician offices to gather relevant history, reviewing imaging and facilitating the appropriate procedures as needed. The RRA will perform interventional and diagnostic procedures consistent with competency and complexity as delegated by the supervising physician and as outlined in the Registered Radiologist Assistant protocols. Communicate preliminary findings to the radiologist for official interpretation. The RRA is responsible for case documentation and communication to involved referring physicians pre and post exam/procedure. As applicable, the RRA will assist medical students, residents and fellows rotating through the department, teach other health care professionals about the management of patients in Radiology, and provide leadership in the assigned Division’s practice to resolve problems and improve patient care. The RRA will also participate in research/quality improvement efforts in the assigned Division. This is a full-time, day shift position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree
  • Certification by the Certification Board of Radiologist Assistants (ARRT R.R.A)
  • Specialist Assistant License from NYS Department of Education
  • BLS and ACLS certified
