About The Position

The Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) plays a key role in leading land surveying projects, ensuring the accurate execution of field surveys, data analysis, and report generation. This position involves conducting boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and other land surveys while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable survey data.

Requirements

  • Licensed RPLS in the state of Texas (or applicable state).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying with significant involvement in boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and survey-specific software (e.g., Leica Infinity).
  • Advanced knowledge of boundary laws, easements, legal descriptions, and local, state, and federal survey regulations.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities with experience supervising junior surveyors or technicians.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plats, and legal descriptions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, effectively managing multiple projects and priorities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage land surveying projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking surveys.
  • Oversee and execute fieldwork and data collection, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of measurements and survey data.
  • Prepare legal descriptions, plat maps, survey reports, and other project deliverables in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Review and interpret deeds, easements, title reports, and other legal documents to resolve boundary disputes and clarify land ownership.
  • Mentor and provide leadership to junior survey staff, offering guidance on surveying techniques, best practices, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure proper integration of survey data into design and construction plans.
  • Maintain project documentation, including survey notes, calculations, and records, ensuring they are complete and well-organized.
  • Ensure all survey work complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meet project deadlines and budgets.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and survey technologies to continuously improve survey operations.
  • Promote a safe working environment by adhering to and enforcing company safety protocols.
