About The Position

The position involves explaining procedures to patients, collecting necessary paperwork, and monitoring and recording studies. The role requires applying the international 10-20 System of Electrodes, setting up polysomnographs, calibrating oximeters, and setting up ancillary equipment. Additionally, the position includes performing Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) or Bi-Level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) device implementation and titration monitoring. A review of polysomnograms is an integral part of the job, along with reviewing clinical competencies for procedures, equipment, and documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered by the national board of polysomnography technologist or hold credential of sleep disorder specialist by the national board of respiratory care.
  • Basic cardiac life support (BCLS) certification.
  • Continuing education in sleep diagnostics required per state regulations or accrediting organization.
