This position has been designated as safety sensitive and cannot be filled by a candidate who is a current user of medical marijuana. The role involves performing and promoting Sleep Disorders procedures ensuring quality and clarity of recording along with detailed documentation. The position requires communication of pertinent information to the Sleep Lab Supervisor and/or physician as needed. The work shift is from 7 PM to 7 AM on variable days, and it is a full-time position requiring 36 hours per week. A minimum of 2 years of Polysomn Tech experience is required.

  • Consistently provides and promotes safe and effective advanced patient care that addresses the age-specific variations related to clinical, educational, psychosocial and cultural needs.
  • Completes and assists with appropriate educational activities to maintain and increase competency, including all required hospital and departmental in-services, education, and training as assigned.
  • Facilitates and improves collaboration with other team members and departments in providing patient care across the continuum.
  • Maintains, creates, and promotes a clean and safe environment conducive to meeting customer needs and regulatory standards.
  • Provides feedback, reports, and initiates changes to improve patient care and/or the work environment. Promotes activities to improve quality of care.
  • Identifies and utilizes available standards, literature and research findings to guide evidence-based practice and provide leadership in patient care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma.
  • 2 years of experience in a sleep laboratory performing polysomnograms.
  • 1 of the following certifications is required: Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP) - Arkansas State Medical Board, Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board of Respiratory Care.
