About The Position

Are you an experienced Mental Health nurse ready for your next adventure? Are you interested in collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding mental healthcare to Southeast Alaska? Bartlett Regional Hospital is looking for Registered Nurses to join our Mental Health Unit! This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $40,000. The Mental Health Unit at Bartlett Regional Hospital is a 12 bed unit providing inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults 18 and older in Juneau, Southeast Alaska, and the greater Alaskan community. This unit is for the short-term assessment and treatment of all types of mental health emergencies in a secure and serene environment. We rely on a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, trained nursing staff, case managers, therapists, and behavioral health assistants to evaluate and treat all of our patients using an individualized treatment approach. Requirements

  • Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • At least one (1) year of continuous experience in a comparable patient care setting for RN II.
  • Three (3) years of current clinical experience or one (1) year of experience as a Bartlett RN II for RN III.
  • BSN preferred for RN III.
  • Proficient clinical competency in primary specialty and a minimum of experience in one (1) float area required when promoting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mental health nursing.
  • Previous work in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Independently plan and implement routine nursing care using standards and knowledge obtained during education and preceptorship.
  • Assume leadership responsibility and work with minimal supervision.
  • Use accurate, clear, and concise oral and written communication.
  • Work as a team and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Use critical thinking skills to analyze and communicate findings effectively.
  • Demonstrate basic computer literacy and the ability to learn new software programs.
  • Efficiently operate a variety of automated office equipment.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay rates starting at $42.81 per hour for RN II and $44.94 per hour for RN III.
