The person occupying this position serves as a member of an interdisciplinary Medical/Nursing team in the role of a Registered Nurse. This position reports to the Medical Director and does not have supervisory responsibilities.

  • Ability to respond in an emergency situation and meet physical and mental demands of position.
  • Ability to assess and treat in accordance with acceptable standards of Nursing Care.
  • Adherence to established nursing protocols.
  • Clear and concise documentation in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement appropriate Nursing Plan of Care.
  • Direct involvement in the development and execution of IEP's.
  • Educate and include client, family, and other appropriate staff in treatment regime.
  • Ability to assess for Tardive Dyskinesia via utilization of DISCUS.
  • Limit practice to scope defined by regulation to a Registered Nurse.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
  • Current license to practice in the State of Tennessee that is free of sanctions.
  • CPR certified and in compliance with regulatory CEU's.
  • Certification or eligible to sit for certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Nurse preferred.
  • Consideration given to five years of experience in a psychiatric setting.
  • Experience working with dually diagnosed individuals is a plus.
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills.
