About The Position

Pre-Op REGISTERED NURSE Southern Indiana ENT is looking for a compassionate, detailed Pre-operative Registered Nurse. In this role you will assist and communicate with patients, providers, and team members to ensure optimal patient care before and after surgery. This role is primarily located at our Columbus and Greenwood practices. This role will report to the Practice Administrator.

Requirements

  • Registered nurse (R.N.) with valid license
  • Three to five years related experience required
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Proficiency with PC-based computer skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Athena
  • Registered Nurse license in good standing and in applicable state required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred

Responsibilities

  • Chart review and breakdown (patient meets office criteria, PMH is up to date, med clearance if needed).
  • Patient intake day of procedure (obtain informed consent, vital signs, NPO status, IV placement).
  • Review Discharge instructions.
  • Discharge patient from facility when patient meets all discharge criteria.
  • Narcotic Count
  • Pre op/post op calls to patients.
  • Be a resource for surgical patients.
  • Accurately and promptly implement physicians' orders.
  • Arrange to have the necessary supplies and equipment on hand.
  • Maintain compliance with all clinical policies, established community policies and procedures, and Federal and State regulations and standards, including but not limited to HIPAA privacy and confidentiality laws.
  • Support and enforce infection-control policies and procedures.
  • Cooperate and maintain good rapport with admin staff, medical staff, other departments, and visitors.
  • Maintain a professional approach with confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.
