The Per Diem Registered Nurse in the Medical ICU practices according to the American Nurses Association's (ANA) standards, using clinical expertise to plan and deliver safe, therapeutic, population-specific patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role centers on the patient and family, incorporating their unique characteristics into the care process. The nurse collaborates with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes, provides leadership by orienting, mentoring, and managing team members, and participates in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient, family, and service outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required for employees hired after 9/1/2020 (those who were hired prior to 9/1/2020 are grandfathered).
  • Current and valid New York State Registered Professional Nurse license.
  • Current and valid BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of standards of practice for all areas of patient care.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • 1 - 2 years Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse License-NYS
