About The Position

Colon Stomach and Liver Center Loudoun Endoscopy Group is seeking a passionate Endo Nurse, who can be a Registered Nurse, to work in Lansdowne, VA. This PRN position operates Monday through Friday, with no nights or weekends. The center is a team of gastroenterologists and allied health professionals dedicated to providing excellent care for digestive diseases. Requirements

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with strong clinical skills, patient care experience, and commitment to safety and quality outcomes.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification required.
  • Solid nursing background, concentration, or willingness to obtain advanced knowledge in GI specialty.
  • Priority setting, application of judgment, communication skill and tact.

Responsibilities

  • Respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations requiring immediate medical intervention.
  • Initiates emergency measures as needed.
  • Assist with maintenance of crash cart.
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs to provide supportive care before, during and after procedures.
  • Directly assist physicians with procedures including handling and maintaining accurate records of medications used and wasted during a procedure as well as accurate handling and labeling of specimens.
  • Maintain standard to provide safe, clean, and orderly environment, including cleaning, disinfection, and daily maintenance of any equipment.
  • To include/provide a safe environment for the patient to prevent potential injury.
  • Initiate IV’s for patient sedation prior to the procedures.
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician’s orders.
  • Participate in patient education pre and post procedure.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records, documenting all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient response.
  • Assist the physician with management of office visits.
  • Provide patient education and instruction.
  • Comply with adverse event reporting and patient privacy policies.
